nextmove takes delivery of four out of 100 Tesla Model 3 for electric car rental
- nextmove, Germanys leading electric car rental company, is expanding its fleet of 350 electric cars in 2019 by 100 Tesla Model 3
- Tesla Model 3 will soon be available for short and long term rental at all ten locations of the car rental company
nextmove, Germany’s leading electric car rental company, took delivery of the first four Tesla Model 3 in the performance version at the Tesla branch in Berlin. The company is Tesla’s largest customer in Germany: In the course of the year, the car rental company based in Central Germany will increase its own fleet of electric cars by 100 Tesla Model 3. The arrival of the least expensive Tesla vehicle to date is a turning point for the German and European car industry. After the first ship, which docked in Belgium last week, further ships with several thousand vehicles are expected on a regular basis.
“At our driving events, most recently at the e-Niro Welcome Party at the Kia car dealership in Borsdorf, we are seeing a strong increase in interest in electric mobility,” says nextmove Managing Director Stefan Moeller. According to calculations by the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW), 2.2 million electric vehicles were registered worldwide last year alone – a jump of 75 percent. “The Tesla Model 3 has already made a brilliant market launch in North America. In 2018 it was the best-selling premium vehicle in the USA and at the same time the best-selling electric car worldwide. Now a real tsunami is rolling towards Europe. The disruptive change is in full swing.”
Jochen Rudat, Director Central Europe at Tesla, said: “We are delighted to hand over the first four Tesla Model 3 to nextmove. The rental gives potential buyers the opportunity to see for themselves the everyday practicality and multiple benefits of our affordable mid-range vehicle. This is how many drivers have already found their way to their own tesla in recent years.”
nextmove has set itself the goal of making electric cars experienceable for as many people as possible. With currently 350 electric cars of all brands, the company offers the widest selection to test electric vehicles in everyday life. Private individuals as well as companies and their employees use the offer to make decisions about vehicles for their own fleets or to find the right electric car for the family. Often, a long-term rental becomes the purchase of the first own electric car.
nextmove is Germany’s leading electric car rental company with 350 vehicles and is present in ten cities. The fleet includes all common electric cars such as Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3, Jaguar I-Pace, Hyundai Ioniq, Hyundai Kona, Kia e-Niro, VW e-Golf, Opel Ampera-e, BMW i3s, Renault Zoe, Renault Kangoo, smart, Nissan Leaf 2 and Nissan e-NV200. The following vehicles will be added soon: Audi e-tron, e.Go Life, Mercedes eVito, StreetScooter Work L.
Customers can try out and compare different models from the fleet and thus find their own dream car. Customers who don’t want to wait long for a new car, can also buy the rental car directly. Long-term rental with flexible termination options is also a cost-effective way of bridging the gap until the own vehicle is available. In addition, the company consults on all aspects of buying, charging and driving electric cars.
